Let's play catch-up.
labor day weekend....we spent on the Durberry...with the Durhams at a lake house at a beautiful lake a couple of hours away from the city. We had a lot of fun on the boat and basking in the sun and met up with a couple of other families from our neighborhood.

This is evening #1...at about 8:30pm which is approximately 30 minutes past mark's bedtime. When he saw this picture he said, "a day in the sun really takes it out of you," and was speechless when I....the keeper of time lines.....informed him that this was a couple hours after we arrived and had not yet spent a day on the lake.

Brenda N. says I look SEXY, and I'm sure that in some parts of the world...sexy includes fat arms and dark roots........doesn't it? In reality I was on the very cusp of sun poisoning.

This has been an exceptionally busy week. Ashley started pre-school on Tuesday. This has been a much anticipated event at the Berry abode as the boy both went to pre-school at the same place and she's had virtually years of dropping off and picking up at this school and she at many times has been at the point of sheer desperation to go in and participate. Well, it's finally her turn.
That is her teacher Ms. Janelle....Curly did great her first day.
Saturday we had football scrimmages for Moe and Larry. Here is a picture of Moe's team.
Justin is on the far left with his back to the camera...next to the kid with the glasses..his name is Dominick. Dominick's dad is a coach's helper and thinks that he's coaching the NFL (from now on we'll refer to him as Herm, he's the bald coach in the picture) and that every time Dominick plays he's risking his contract with Nike.....or Pearl Vision. Dominick got trampled and through the crowd his mother leaped up and screamed....Y-OUUUUUUUUR GLAAAAAASSSEEESS!....Dominick was bloody and broken but through the crowd of kids and coaches...he held up his glasses for his mother to see....were fairly certain that Dominick has suffered the consequences of damaged glasses in the past. Justin ran for a touch down...even though he was losing his flags. He tucked the ball under one arm and held his flags up with the other....and ran like lightening.
Larry's scrimmage was an entirely different story. I couldn't even tell which kid was what under the helmets and the pads...it was a crazy mess....I'll try and get some pictures at a later time. Nick only played for two plays and were contemplating if he will even continue playing....
This weekend is Labor Day and we are going to the lake with the Durhams. We've rented a lake house and plan on doing nothing but boating and relaxing for three days straight. I'll be sure and take a lot of pictures to commemorate the event.
Today is Curly's birthday. She was born two weeks early on a Friday after a night spent in the hospital with heartbeat worries. She was born at 10:45 pm with a knot tied in her cord...its a good thing the doctor decided to deliver her. She had a head full of black hair which she never lost and now it's so long it tickles her bum. She loves princesses and dancing and all things pink. She's perfect in every way and we love her.
Friday Mark took her on their annual "birthday date", where they ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and went shopping for a birthday dress on the Country Club Plaza. I can't remember where he took me on my birthday, and I'm pretty sure that means it didn't include lunch and shopping on the plaza.
Saturday we had a b-day party for her and some of her little friends, in which we had invited Cinderella. I'll post some pictures and a "party post" later when I have time to load them up.
Ashley, you have been an absolute joy to us...the icing on our cake...the cherry on our Berry pie. Your a little bossy, and have a lot of attitude...but we think your perfect..
Happy Birthday Princess
Today Larry started 4th grade and Moe 1st grade. They were both excited and Mark and I wondered....all day as we joyously roamed the city without the squalling and fighting that normally ensued in the back seat, store isles, restaurant booths...and virtually anywhere the two are together.....where the summer had went?

After the school photo shoot Curly and I went to Walmart and then came home and went to lunch with Mark....then to hobby lobby to pick up some craft supplies....After that Curly had a Drs Appt....that I had been assuring her all day did not include shots...which it did...but in order to save some peace I did not disclose that information until the nurse held up the needles and asked which leg did I want them in...at which point Curly began to scream that I was a liar! liar! liar!........she was all better once she saw the bugs bunny band aid.......
Moe has football practice tonight.....it's still hot...only 97 today which they are calling a "cool down"....I still think it's practically unbearable....but no more 100's at least..
Larry was born. Mark and I had only been married for 6 months when I got pregnant with Nick. We were very excited and told our family by buying a cradle and then having them over and bringing them into the bedroom to see our new "furniture".
It was the longest pregnancy in the history of pregnancies, and also the end of my girlish figure forever...and ever...amen.
I was due June 19th. When I finally went into labor we rushed to the hospital where we waited another 12 hours for him to come. When I was dilated to 10 the nurse said to me, "Okay, time for some practice pushes."......oh no, I said, "I don't need to practice...lets do this." she laughed. Let's practice for a while and then we'll call the doctor and have him come from his office across town for the delivery. Thats when I found out that all the movies I had watched where the woman pushed once and had a bouncing baby were false. I pushed for 2 hours.
Nicholas Bryant was born at 4:35 pm on a Thursday. He was 7lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. He was the smallest and shortest of my babies. Now, he's getting close to being as tall as me. He can be mouthy....and very very sweet....and he has 2 big front teeth that we call his spitters...because he sprays it when he says it. And we love him. Happy birthday sweet boy.
